What is Mega Man X Engine?

Mega Man X Engine is a framework being developed using GameMaker (formerly GameMaker Studio 2), ​with the aim of allowing others to create their own Mega Man X fangame without having to code from scratch.

Will this be available on iOS or macOS?

No. Exporting to these platforms requires a mac computer, an Apple Developer Account ($99/year) and app publishing on the Apple Store, which can get us into trouble with Capcom.

I don't know how to use GameMaker. Will you make this be like Mega Man Maker?

No. This is not the purpose of this project but after the source code is released, someone else will probably do it.

Can I run this on SNES emulator?

No. This project was not made to run on Super Nintendo and does not respect its limitations.
This is not a romhack, it was made from scratch using GameMaker.

Will there be more playable characters?

So far, the following characters have been confirmed: X, Zero, Axl, Iris, Vile, MegaMan and ProtoMan.
It is not the priority at the moment but it is possible that more characters will be added.

Will there be 8 bosses?

Probably not, as the goal is to make the core mechanics work and not a full fangame of MegaMan X.
